Dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) MR perfusion is one of the most frequently used techniques for MRI perfusion, and relies on the susceptibility induced signal loss on T2*-weighted sequences which results from a bolus of gadolinium-based contrast passing through a capillary bed. The most commonly calculated parameters are rCBV, rCBF, and MTT.
The DSC MRI perfusion technique is typically used in the setting of infarct and tumor, as well as other conditions with altered cerebrovascular hemodynamics, since it estimates cerebral blood flow and volume.

Introduction • Perfusion MRI is sensitive to microvasculature and has been widely used for variety of clinical applications including classification of tumors, identification of stroke regions and characterization of other diseases. Perfusion analysis was performed with the Philips Neuro Perfusion package (Philips Extended MR Workspace R22.214.171.124).
